Mission Statement:

We want to contribute to the growing body of data available to the public as well as to researchers, scholars and students by building an online resource that includes tools for accessing historical sign language materials. This system will constitute not only a unique database of historical ASL data, but also a powerful comparative tool for use by scholars from disciplines such as humanities, linguistics and cognitive sciences. Historical materials in this collection can be incorporated into the teaching and study of sign language in education.
